Rich Shea has nearly 15 years of diving experience. Originally certified by Bert Sharabaugh at Maurer's Dive Shop in Carrolltown, Pa he quickly gained experience and dived everywhere he could. Within 2 years of his first dive, he started helping others achieve their certification and obtained his assistant instructor rating. After a few more years of diving in the Great Lakes, Bonaire, Jamaica and various local lakes and rivers, he ventured into the world of technical diving and then later cave diving. He holds a variety of diving certifications from DAN, IANTD, TDI, and NSS-CDS that includes nitrox, semi-closed rebreather, decompression, trimix, full cave, and mixed gas blending.

In 2005, Rich decided to become an instructor. He feels that diving is more than a hobby and is passionate about the sport. Helping others see the beauty of the underwater world gives him great satisfaction. Certified through PADI as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) and a DAN instructor he wants to make your diving experience one of a lifetime. Rich achieved instructor rating to give back to the sport that gave him so much. Rich's desire is to share his diving experiences, training experiences, and travel experiences to make you a better diver.

Rich's teaching philosophy is simple and direct. You can expect the very best scuba training and scuba mentoring with every course you take. Just as he wants to be your life long mentor, you can also have access to his life long mentors. Bill Williams and Reggie Ross trained Rich in a variety of technical and cave diving courses. Bill Williams and Reggie Ross obtained a vast amount of experience and instructed several hundred students. These are great resources for those divers that want to learn more. Scuba diving is about learning and as you dive, you should continue to learn.
